Where The Day Takes You [1992]
Starring:
Dermot Mulroney, Sean Astin, Lara Flynn Boyle, Balthazar Getty, Ricki Lake, Peter Dobson, Will Smith
Love/Hate?: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
Spoilery?:
A few screencaps from throughout the film and quite a detailed review, but only of the first half of the movie. So not overly spoilery and doesn't give away the main OMG points.

There is some fiction in your truth,
and some truth in your fiction.

So I finally got around to watching The Animatrix, only 5 years late lol, which my sister lent me.[Thanks again!] Let me tell you, I am obsessed with it! It's fucking great. If you're a fan of The Matrix at all, you should give this a shot. How about it? Any fans on here? Anyone as in love with The Matrix and I am? Anyways, The Animatrix is nine different animated short films, done in all different animation. I managed to find them all on youtube if you're interested and want to watch! Enjoy!

FINAL FLIGHT OF THE OSIRIS

THE SECOND RENAISSANCE PART I*

THE SECOND RENAISSANCE PART II*

KID'S STORY*

This one is probably my favorite of all the short films.
This is the backstory of the Kid, from the 2nd and 3rd Matrix,
and how he escaped from the Matrix.

PROGRAM

WORLD RECORD

BEYOND*

A DETECTIVE STORY

MATRICULATED

[I could only find it dubbed, sorry.]

RUNAWAY
Starring Tom Selleck and Cynthia Rhodes:
LOVED IT! (in an unintentionally hilarious kind of way)

You'll like this movie if you like old futuristic movies, so-bad-they're-good 80's action movies, MST3K, and/or Tom Selleck and The Selleck Mustache of Justice™.

**Caution: Super Spoilery**

In 1984, the future was run by robots!Collapse )

Horror Films? [Jul. 31st, 2008|03:37 am]

Not sure if this is allowed, since it's not really a review or anything, but I'm asking anyway.

What are your favorite horror films?

Personally, my favorite of all time is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I really consider it a masterpiece.  It's a great example of less being more and how much you DON'T see causes more terror than what you DO.

Some other favorites of mine are Haute tension, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead (OK, yes I really love George Romero!), The Shining (HOW could I almost forget this?!), and The Devil's Rejects.

The news this week probably had quite a few fans of the anime genre up in arms. I know I am...

Steven Spielberg is planning on making a live-action adaptation to Ghost in the ShellCollapse )

This review was written with the understanding that the reader has a basic knowledge of the Anime genre and / or the Anime: Ghost in the Shell. It is also mostly a rant. So if you’re not interested, please don’t bother reading it. Thank you.
